Stephen Fredkin is one of the most experienced trial lawyers in the State of California. Since 1974, Mr. Fredkin has tried to verdict over 200 jury trials and court trials. These trials included claims for elder abuse, trust and will contests, medical malpractice, premises liability, professional negligence, fraud, complex breaches of contract, and simple auto cases. Other than an anti-trust case, Stephen has litigated almost every conceivable civil case.
With over 40 years of trial experience throughout California, Mr. Fredkin prides himself on thoroughly preparing each case as if it will be tried in a court of law.
The depth of the trial experience of Mr. Fredkin was acknowledged by several other attorneys in the country when they requested him to litigate a case against three of the five initial Dalkon Shield Trustees in Federal Court in Richmond, Virginia which sought the ouster of these three trustees who had been appointed to administer the $2.3 billion Dalkon Shield Trust Fund. As a result , these three trustees were removed by the federal judge.
During his career, Mr. Fredkin has been asked to speak on issues concerning litigating medical malpractice cases.
Mr. Fredkin has spent his entire life and legal career in California. Stephen was raised in San Jose, California, and graduated from the University of California Berkeley in 1969, and the Santa Clara University School of Law in 1973. After graduating law school, Stephen moved south to Monterey County where he started practicing law with a small three-man Salinas law firm where he received great tutelage and trial experience. The four years Stephen spent with that firm set the foundation for his litigation practice.
